It All Started with a Headlamp and a Dream
Gleamingson Auto Detailing wasn't born in a boardroom; it was born in a driveway back in 2012. I had just bought a brilliant pearl black 2008 Chrysler 300c SRT. It was a beautiful car, but the paint was a disaster. The pros told me it needed wet sanding, which sounded expensive. Honestly, I didn't have the cash for that.
So, I did what any stubborn car enthusiast would do: I bought a polisher and decided to figure it out myself. I didn't have a fancy shop or high-end lights. I learned paint correction on black paint wearing a Petzl 400-lumen headlamp. It might sound funny now, but seeing those scratches disappear was addictive. I realized I could actually do this, and more importantly, I loved the results.
The Chef's Mindset
At the time, I was working as a Sous Chef at Del Frisco's Steak House in Philadelphia. I spent 20 years of my life in professional kitchens. You might wonder what cooking a steak has to do with detailing a car. The answer is: everything.
In a kitchen, "mise en place" (everything in its place) and attention to detail are the difference between a great meal and a disaster. You can't hide mistakes on a plate, and you certainly can't hide them on black paint. I've always liked working with my hands and seeing immediate, tangible results. That discipline transferred perfectly to detailing. Whether it's a perfect reduction sauce or a mirror-finish on a hood, the satisfaction is the same.
Learning the Hard Way (and the Right Way)
I’ll admit, I started backwards. Most detailers start with washing and vacuuming interiors. I dove straight into the deep end with paint correction. I became obsessed. I spent hours on Autogeek and watching YouTube legends like Pan The Organizer, Ammo NYC, and Apex Detail. I wasn't just watching; I was studying.
I started taking my car to shows, and people noticed. They would ask who painted my car, and when I told them I just polished it, they started asking me to do theirs. That’s how Gleamingson Auto Detailing started to take shape here in Mays Landing, NJ.

Tragedy and Evolution
In 2018, my beloved Chrysler 300 was destroyed in a fire. It was a show car by then, and I had poured a lot of time and money into it. It was a tough loss. But a few weeks later, I bought a 2019 Dodge Charger Daytona 392. Naturally, I bought it in gloss black.
Owning a second black car really honed my skills. If you can make black paint look flawless, you can detail anything. By this point, I had moved from the "experimental" phase to being a professional. I cleared out my garage, set up my shop, and went all in.

Always Evolving, Always Improving
Just like technology changes, detailing products evolve. I pride myself on staying up to date. I don't use the same wax I used in 2012 because there are better options now. Whether it's the latest ceramic coating or a more efficient polishing technique, I am constantly researching to ensure I'm using the best quality products available.
I’m a solo operator, which means when you hire Gleamingson, you get me. You don't get a trainee. You get the guy who treats your car with the same obsession he used to run a fine-dining kitchen.
More Than Just a Shine
My goal isn't just to make your car look good for a day. I want to build a long-term relationship. I want to educate you on how to care for your vehicle so it stays looking good. We aren't about the quick turnover; we are about quality over quantity.
Every car is different, just like every customer. I tailor my services to what your vehicle actually needs, not just what's on a menu. If you are in Mays Landing, NJ or the surrounding areas, bring your vehicle by. Let’s make it gleam.
